Headshot Session with Jojo
Your Brand Session Should Look Like YOU. Not Everyone Else.
There's a version of the "professional headshot" we've all seen a thousand times. Solid background. Forced smile. Generic blazer. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing memorable about it either.
When I sat down with Jojo before his session, I knew that approach wasn't going to cut it.
Jojo had just landed a new sales position, and we wanted photos that would do more than check a box. Sales is fundamentally about people; reading them, connecting with them, making them feel seen.
And that's exactly who Jojo is. He's the kind of person who lights up in a room full of people, genuinely curious about everyone around him. The irony? He doesn't always extend that same openness to himself.
So that became the creative direction.
What if he looked at the camera the way he looks at the people he genuinely cares about?
Not a performance. Not "say cheese." Just presence.
For the headshot, we kept it clean and direct. Neutral tones, soft background, cream shirt. Approachable. The kind of photo that makes someone want to actually reach out after they see it on LinkedIn.
For the second shot, we pulled back and let the environment breathe. Concrete, greenery, natural light. His body is turned, hands clasped, but he's looking at you. It's calm, it's grounded, and it has just enough edge to remind you this isn't just a nice guy, this is someone you want in your corner.
The color palette stayed close to neutrals throughout, which let him be the contrast. Deep tones, pulled-back highlights — nothing competing with the person in the frame.
Here's what I want you to take from this:
Your personal branding session should never be a copy-paste job. The location, the wardrobe, the energy, the editing — all of it should be asking the same question: Who is this person, really?
When we get that right, the photos don't just look good. They feel true. And people can tell the difference.
